Just a few words from our sponsors....

Welcome to Mr. Judd's blog. As this is my first attempt at blogging, it will be a learning experience for me as well as you. My idea, as an instructor, is to educate, inspire and prepare. I've called my blog The Soapbox. Back in the day, a person who wanted to address a crowd of people, would stand on a soapbox and espouse his views. Often times, it would be of a political or moral nature. My slant or view on this is to give you more time to ask about what ever you want. I often don't have the time to address each one of your questions in depth, so this will allow me to be more accessable to each of you. Feel free to be honest, to speak freely and most importantly, to express yourself. Please keep profanity to a minimum. Compose your questions in a professional manner. If you think and write in a professional way, you will be treated professionally.
I'll probably blog a little each day. I'll talk about music, entertainment, and answer questions.
So...let the "blogging" begin.

Hey Mr. Judd, This is your boy Hector

I would just like to say that I think it is great that you are open with your students. That ability to see people as a person an not just a number gives me a sense of being. Most teachers take roll and get right into the course without stopping to see where the student is as far as understanding the material. This little time to get to know your studens goes a long way in more ways than one. The sense of being comfortable in front of the stage makes a big differnce to many students, expecially those who commonly have stage fright. Luckily I am not one who falls in that category. I would say I am more of a natural when it comes to speaking outloud in public places, but this case is not so when it comes to the average joe. Again, I would like to say thanks, and your approach is great.

Thanks, Hector Castruita Jr.

One question I have is in relation to the student surveys we take at the end of each term. My question is why doesn't the SJVC corporate office let us survey both courses/instructors that we have in one term? When I took the last course/instructor survey only one of my courses was listed. The course that I really wanted to comment on wasn't even there. Why should corporate choose the courses that we get to comment on? If they're really interested in our point of views, they should let us take the surveys for the courses we have respectively taken. Most of my fellow classmates were also surprised to see one of the courses missing. We just want to express our opinions about our courses, especially since we're the ones paying for our education.

Hi Mr. JUdd this is Mayra i would like to thank you about what you are doing for us. I think this is a good idea of you making a site and let your students be free on what ever they want to say. I am very surprised because i have met a lot of teachers since i was small. Since i remember i have not met too many teachers who really cares about what others think. I think this makes you a very good teacher because this is saying that you just don't come and teach what you know and take the check to your house. You take your free time, that you could spend with your wife and kids, and spend it hearing or reading our comments. I think every student feels more comfortable having a teacher like you because we feel that our opinion really interest others. Thank you for being a very good teacher because that is the really success for you. Don't never let the "bad guey" be on you be nice and use your intelligence instead.

Hey Mr. Judd,

Well as you know im in the last five weeks before i finish the business administration program. I was just wondering, i know i want to continue going to school but im not sure what the bets choice would be. Im determined to obtain my bachlers. Im thinking of enrolling into University of Phenix. Another thing i am concerned about is the financing to go to school. Here i didnt qualify for any type of finacial aide and both my mom and i had to get two loans to cover for the fourteen months that i have been here. Im not worried about paying off the schooling i have recieved here at SJVC. Im not completely sure what i should do and just wanted to ask for some advice.

I just wanted to know how do i avoid people that get on my nerves. I've tried to avoid them as much as possible and that is not working. I don't think that i do anything wrong, but i do opinionate a lot. I wish those people didn't exist to me.

Why is it so hard to find peace within. I have a really hard time with myself. I always feel paranoid and nervous. I always feel as if I never have enough time to do things. I would like to take time to stop worrying just so I can have some time for myself and to have peace. I would like a day were I can get to know myself better and to figure out what is wrong with me.
